President,

When I think of Soror Rosie Allen-Herring, words like forward-thinker, visionary, compassionate leader, and loving sister immediately come to mind. As the Immediate Past Eastern Regional Director, she didn’t just lead—she walked with us. As a newly chartered International Chapter navigating uncharted waters, Soror Rosie made sure we never felt alone. From the very beginning, she ensured we were not only included but fully equipped and informed on how to conduct the business of Delta with excellence and integrity. Her open-door policy wasn't just a phrase—it was her practice. Whether we needed guidance, clarification, or encouragement, she was just a phone call away, regardless of the time zone. She has a deep and clear understanding that being an international organization means we often have to do things a little differently. She embraced that difference and uplifted it. She made it a priority to include every international chapter, recognizing that inclusion isn't just about presence—it's about voice, representation, and respect. What sets her apart is that she didn’t just connect with us virtually—she showed up. She ensured every chapter had an opportunity to meet with her in person, investing the time and energy to truly know the Sorors and the communities we serve. That kind of commitment is rare and powerful. As National First Vice President, I am confident that Soror Rosie will be transformative. Her leadership will not only strengthen our sisterhood—it will elevate our programs and reaffirm what it truly means to be an International Sisterhood. She doesn’t just talk about inclusion, compassion, and visionary service—she lives it. And with her at the helm, I know the future of Delta is in strong, loving, and capable hands. With pride, with love, and with unwavering support, I stand with Soror Rosie Allen-Herring. Deidra White President, Arabian Gulf Alumnae Chapter

Her vision, grace, and unwavering dedication to our sisterhood set a powerful example for all of us. What made her leadership especially impactful was her attentiveness and responsiveness. She was always present—listening, addressing concerns, and ensuring every voice was heard. Her commitment to communication was unmatched, consistently keeping all chapters informed and engaged, especially our international chapters. She made sure no one ever felt left out or overlooked, and her efforts created a strong sense of unity across the region. Her ability to balance strength, empathy, and accessibility made her not only an exceptional leader but also a true sister in every sense of the word. The impact she made during her tenure will be felt for years to come, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to witness and learn from her incredible leadership. Rosie Allen-Herring is truly a Delta’s Delta. For years I observed her as she led from various positions within our organization at the chapter, regional, and national levels. In 2020, after we were both elected to serve our respective regions as Regional Directors, I had the opportunity to work closely with Rosie as we navigated the unprecedented world of “Pandemic 19 leadership,” with all its challenges and unknowns. During the past five years that Rosie and I worked together, I have been consistently impressed by her dedication, commitment, integrity, cerebral agility, and unconditional love of others. Soror Allen-Herring’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity, critical and strategic thinking, and results-oriented, is particularly noteworthy. She is fair and transparent and does not shy away from making difficult decisions or celebrating small successes. I witnessed her tireless work ethic as she led the Eastern Region, with not one chapter left behind. Often while attending Board Meetings or other training sessions, Rosie would schedule meetings as early as 4:00 a.m. EST with her international chapters, providing them with the same energy, time, and attention that chapters in the States received. That is an example of commitment at its best. Articulate and poised, Rosie has experience in interpreting our governing documents, and presenting training to chapter leaders and members, while exercising good and sound judgment. She can facilitate productive dialogue between diverse groups, guiding them to effectively resolve and dissolve complex issues. A proven leader in her profession, in the community, and in Delta, Soror Rosie is not new to this thing called leadership, she is true to it. She is prepared and equipped to lead us to the next level. Her vision is clear and she has never unrolled her sleeves. Rosie stands ready to serve with high ideals preserved. She loves her creator, her family, and sorors without question. With a proven track record of impeccable work ethic, extensive Delta knowledge, varied leadership experiences, and a commitment to serving, Rosie is the ideal candidate for First National Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a Delta’s Delta.

I am excited to support Soror Rosie Allen-Herring as our next National 1st Vice President. Ten years ago, Soror Rosie (as she likes to be called), and I connected when she was my professional mentor for the inaugural Delta Fellows Leadership Program. As an experienced and nationally recognized nonprofit leader, she is someone I trusted and could confide in whenever I faced challenging work issues. In 2020 when Soror Rosie was elected Regional Director for the Eastern Region, I was appointed to serve on her leadership team as Connecticut State Coordinator. From 2020-2024, I had the pleasure of having a front-row seat to Soror Rosie leading our region. Soror Rosie is passionate, strategic, fair, and focused. Soror Rosie is a leader in every sense of the word and has remained faithful in her lifetime commitment to the principles, beliefs, and practices of our sorority. As the next National 1st Vice President, she will remain DEDICATED TO EXCELLENCE, she will STRENGTHEN OUR SISTERHOOD, and she is TRUSTED TO LEAD. There is no question that Soror Rosie is READY TO SERVE AND LEAD our sorority.

Soror Rosie Allen-Herring is excellence personified and the hallmark of her character is integrity multiplied by a steady work ethic that influences others to want to be better in all facets of life. Her leadership extends from the corporate world to multiple committees throughout the sorority and she is currently working tirelessly to welcome us to Washington, D.C. for the 57th National Convention as Convention Coordinator. When Soror Allen-Herring was the Eastern Regional Director, she helped us to realize our goals and make them become reality because of her steadfast commitment to us and most importantly to our sorority. I served on her Eastern Regional Leadership Team as the Co-Chair of the Arts and Letters Committee and worked closely with her on numerous projects and events. It was during this time that I saw firsthand Soror Allen-Herring’s love for Delta, her drive to always give her best, her desire to serve and be of service, and most importantly…her humility while doing it all. Soror Allen-Herring can see challenging situations as opportunities to strengthen those around her by providing guidance and empowering others to become the leaders that she knows they can be. This trait is essential for developing future leaders and ensuring the longevity of our sisterhood. When Soror Allen-Herring’s term was ending as Eastern Regional Director, our leadership team was given the charge to “Finish with Fortitude” and we all rose to the occasion because she led the charge, embodied it and re-energized us to keep going, while lifting one another to the finish line together. It was a beautiful moment in time and as tired as I was, this was the motivation I needed to dig deep to find that extra strength to bring the collective work of my committee to a meaningful close. I encourage everyone to review her credentials and discuss her contributions with those who have worked with her locally, regionally, and nationally. With great pride and enthusiasm, I endorse Soror Rosie Allen-Herring for National First Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I met Soror Rosie in 2012 when I joined The Federal City Alumnae Chapter (FCAC). As a new Soror to the area and the Chapter, she welcomed me with open arms and encouraged boldness in my Delta service and professional journey. Her open-door policy extended beyond Delta, and she was instrumental in helping me navigate the early stages of my career in corporate America. Over the past decade, I've witnessed the impact of her leadership across Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Fannie Mae, United Way of the National Capital Area, and the Greater Washington region. At every step, she has led with heart, purpose, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to service. Soror Rosie’s dedication and proven leadership make her an exceptional candidate for National First Vice President. She has served our Sorority with distinction and honor at every level—including as Chapter President of FCAC, Chair of the National Strategic Planning Committee, and Eastern Regional Director. In each role, Soror Rosie delivered results while uplifting and inspiring others. What sets Soror Rosie apart is how she leads. She lifts as she climbs—sharing her wisdom, investing her time, talents, and treasure to mentor the next generation, always offering support, and bringing out the best in others. As her titles changed and responsibilities expanded, I am grateful that Soror Rosie’s open-door policy and steadfast support of me have remained constant. I am honored to support Soror Rosie Allen-Herring’s candidacy for National First Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and firmly believe she is well-positioned to advance the mission of our illustrious Sisterhood in the upcoming biennium. Leadership is a noun that simply means 'the act of leading a group, team, or organization’. However, when you think of adjectives that describe a leader, words that come to mind are ethical, visionary, self-aware, and proactive, just to name a few. I chose those same words to describe my Big Sister, Mentor, and Demonstrated Leader, Soror Rosie Allen-Herring. Rosie has been a consistent, confident, and unshakable Professional and Delta Leader. I saw her demonstrate exemplary leadership as a young collegiate on the campus of Howard University and again as a mentor in the esteemed Delta Fellows Program. At each level of leadership progression, the group or audience may have changed or grown larger, but Rosie stayed the course. She knows who she is, whose she is, and how to bring every member along on the journey. In short, you will learn as I have over these thirty-plus years, that you can count on Soror Rosie Allen-Herring to do the right things. at the right time, for the right reasons. Dear Sorors, I am honored to write this testimonial on behalf of Soror Rosie Allen-Herring, a distinguished candidate for the position of National First Vice President of our beloved Sorority. With her exceptional leadership skills, unwavering dedication, and profound commitment to our mission, our purpose, and to people, she is uniquely qualified to serve in this role as outlined in our Constitution and Bylaws. I had the honor and privilege of serving as the State Coordinator supporting Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire during Soror Rosie's tenure as Eastern Regional Director. I witnessed firsthand her inclusive leadership style as she assembled a diverse leadership team and empowered us to collaborate and navigate the challenges of the pandemic. She leveraged her professional expertise and meticulous attention to detail to develop a strategic vision and implemented a regional communication cadence, ensuring transparency, consistency, and a replicable process that seamlessly transitioned to the next Regional team. Soror Rosie works tirelessly and leads by example. She empowers, encourages, and supports her leadership team, balancing empathy with accountability. She is not afraid to have challenging conversations with sorors and chapters when they deviate from our governing documents, ensuring that we uphold the highest standards of excellence and integrity. I’ve experienced Soror Rosie’s care, concern, and support for others, including me. She connected me to her professional and personal network when my daughter transitioned to college. She also made valuable introductions during my recent work-related relocation and transition to the Southern Region. I witnessed Soror Rosie’s excellence and executive presence as she delivered keynote speeches, facilitated meetings, and, at the request of our International President, she participated in an important Black History Month panel discussion held at my firm. Soror Rosie also led the historic centennial celebration efforts, developed a National strategic plan, identified and vetted prodigious women to become our Honorary Members, and inspired our collegiate and alumnae sorors to elevate. She challenged the status quo, tapping and encouraging sorors like me to leverage our professional expertise and assume elected or appointed leadership roles in the sorority. As an immigrant, I am immensely proud and grateful for Soror Rosie’s efforts and strategic vision in not only chartering numerous international chapters but also taking the time to listen and understand the unique challenges that these chapters encounter. Soror Rosie’s Delta resume is impressive, but she does not do the work to build her Delta resume; rather, to continue building on our legacy. She is dedicated to excellence, strengthening our sisterhood, and she is indeed trusted to lead. Her leadership experience, dedication, and strategic vision make her the ideal choice for National First Vice President. She has my vote of confidence, and I hope she can count on your VOTE! Soror Allen-Herring was my Resident Assistant during my freshman year at Howard University and a leader on campus whom I deeply admired. Even at that young age, she carried herself with a grace, strength, and warmth that left a lasting impression on me. I had not seen her in over thirty years until we reconnected at the 2023 National Convention in Indianapolis. I was overjoyed to finally tell her how much she impacted my life. Not only was she one of the key reasons I aspired to become a member of our beloved sorority, but her kind and caring demeanor exemplified what it means to be a servant leader. Her example helped shape the woman I am today, and I will always be grateful for her presence during such a pivotal time in my life. Soror Holli Bradley-Harrington Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter

I have known Rosie Allen-Herring personally for over 15 years. Rosie's executive leadership experience and overall institutional management skills are necessary for an evolving political world. In a time when Deltas all over the world are grappling with how to effectively render sisterhood, service and social action, the chief membership officer must be ready to meet the task at hand with an eye for operational gaps that can be closed for us to thrive. Rosie will lean in and wholeheartedly support the next president in her quest to ensure that we groom our sisterhood to be a beacon of light, so that we may live like ideal Deltas should. I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing Soror Rosie Allen-Herring for 15 years. Throughout that time, I have been consistently inspired by her strength of character, unwavering commitment to excellence, and deep love for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Our journey began when we both served as chapter presidents. Even then, Soror Rosie led with integrity, purpose, and a servant’s heart—always prioritizing the mission and vision of our Sisterhood. A defining moment in our shared service was under her outstanding leadership as Chair of the Centennial Convention in 2013. That historic celebration showcased her bold vision, strategic planning, and ability to lead on a national scale with excellence and grace. Her leadership left an enduring legacy. Our collaboration continued during her tenure as Regional Director while I served as Maryland State Coordinator. Soror Rosie’s leadership was both collaborative and empowering. She encouraged innovation, respected diverse perspectives, and held us accountable to Delta’s high standards. Her firm yet supportive approach cultivated growth and excellence across the region. It has been one of the greatest honor of my Delta journey to build a relationship with Soror Rosie Allen-Herring. I first met her in my role as Tri-State Facilitator, and since then, as Chapter President of Pi Theta, I’ve had the opportunity to witness her grace, strength, and unwavering commitment to our Sisterhood up close. Soror Rosie is the kind of leader who commands respect not through force, but through presence — through the way she listens deeply, speaks with intention, and carries herself with purpose. She leads with both vision and heart, and she has a way of making every Soror feel seen, valued, and capable. What makes her leadership especially powerful is her warmth. She radiates the kind of genuine care that makes you feel safe, heard, and inspired. The kind of leader who leads with both excellence and empathy. Whether in a crowded room or one-on-one, she brings light and clarity to every space she enters. As a younger member of our beloved Sisterhood, I look up to Soror Rosie not just for her impressive accomplishments, but for the character that guides them. Her example has shaped how I show up — in Delta, in leadership, and in life. I am endlessly grateful for the wisdom she’s shared, the encouragement she’s offered, and the path she continues to blaze for all of us. Maya Bryson President, Pi Theta Dartmouth College

During my time working as one of the session leads for the Delta Fellows Program Leading Organizations component, I had the privilege of collaborating with our 26th National President, Soror Beverly E. Smith the facilitator, on a panel discussion for the Fellow Cohort on the topic of “Understanding/Exploring Organizational Culture”. Soror Rosie Allen-Herring not only lent her expertise as a mentor for Cohort V, but she also served as a panelist for both Cohort IV and V. She was an invaluable resource when discussing how the cohort could position themselves to change their organizational culture, sharing both her nonprofit and corporate experience. She has served the sorority as a member of the Executive Board for over a decade including the immediate past Eastern Regional Director and Chair of the National Strategic Planning Committee. In all, it was a delight working with Soror Rosie, and I have no doubt that if elected, she will be a wonderful addition to the National Executive Board as National First Vice President. Rosie Testimonials (2).png

It’s an honor to share my personal testimony in support of Rosie Allen-Herring’s candidacy for National First Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Rosie was Alpha Chapter’s President when I was initiated in 1987. During our intake process, Rosie served as a leadership role model, propelling us to excel. Although I knew very little about sorority life before coming to Howard University, I soon became intensely determined to become a part of our glorious sisterhood. I pressed on, and with the support of some of my future Line Sisters and Big Sisters, I made the Spring 1987 Alpha Chapter Line my sophomore year! Unfortunately, I soon developed a case of imposter syndrome because so many of my brilliant line sisters possessed such natural leadership abilities. Intimated, I inadvertently stepped into the background. As Chapter President, Rosie had numerous tasks, but she still noticed that I had become somewhat invisible and challenged me to step forward and become more confident and engaged. I never forgot that, and I have applied her advice whenever I needed to establish myself in professional settings. Years later, I had the opportunity to be one of the featured authors at the 2022 Eastern Region's Delta Authors on Tour, following the publication of my biography on our 20th National President, Dr. Bertha Maxwell-Roddey. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with Soror Rosie again after so many years. It was an honor to write Dr. Maxwell-Roddey’s biography because I had the opportunity to spend so much time with her. Rosie Allen Herring’s servant leadership style, graciousness, and down-to-earth personality reminds me so much of Dr. Maxwell-Roddey's leadership style. As a proven leader and problem-solver in both the professional and Delta world, Soror Allen-Herring's experienced leadership is just what Delta needs as we face new internal and external milestones and challenges. Reaching Our Sorors to Impact Engagement Reaching our Sorors to impact engagement is a skill and quality that Rosie Allen Herring exudes across our sisterhood. Leadership at the national membership level requires a Soror who understands what it means to lead at all levels of the Sorority, one who identifies with the needs of individual communities to help facilitate rebuilding and has the capacity to work with external partners to make strides toward meeting chapters’ needs and goals, and one of a sisterly nature who empathizes with the plight of people affected disproportionately during unprecedented times. Her jovial spirit uplifts people in her presence and signifies for many warmth, trust, and dedication. Rosie Allen Herring is the embodiment of our nine cardinal virtues. Jacquie Hood Martin, PhD

In January 1986, I met Rosie Allen-Herring. From the very beginning, she stood out because of her welcoming spirit and strong leadership as our line president. She was calm, confident, and focused on making thoughtful decisions as we began our journey together. Over the years, I’ve watched Rosie grow and succeed not just in her professional career, but also in various roles within our sisterhood and with her family life.
